Say goodnight, Polly. – Chap. 5, Act 3, Strip 13

Completely refreshed and flush with professorial achievement, the Professor starts a new day filled with promise – in this case, his promise that he’d look after Snuka as his adoptive son (currently daughter), which he’s put on the backburner for a little while there. It’s just life, you’ve got to juggle your responsibilities at times…

Turning his massive intellect and scientific training to the problem of making use of the ninja equipment left behind by Snuka, he completely succeeds in getting it to work. Let’s leave it at that. It’s not exactly the most common method of employing that camouflaged cloth, but it has achieved the desired objective. And perhaps, from the viewpoint of pure logic, it’s the most obvious way to use it…especially if you’ve ever had a budgie or canary. It basically works the same with them. Ashigaru are not usually kept as pets, but they do sing. Especially when they’re drunk.

More on Thursday.
