With the romantic interludes at an idea, let’s have a sudden mood change.
I was debating whether it would be tasteless to use excerpts of the infamous “From Hell” letter for this strip, but since it was very likely a fake from the start, and not actually written by Jack the Ripper, I felt I could get away with it. And since the strip called for a letter arriving from Hell, passing by the opportunity to allude to that particular one would have seemed like a waste.
And, yeah. Naturally, Maru-maru had not planned on letting the team off with just a strengthening of spirits and some romantic distractions for relaxation. A protagonist team that has been beaten can’t get back onto victory road without going through a training camp from Hell first. Them’s the rules.
