Better than being listless – Chapter 9, Act 1, Strip 45

The indeterminate amount of time Biff spent in the nurse’s office might have been indeterminate, but it was apparently also short enough for him to return to the club room while the emergency conference was still going on. But then, the emergency under discussion is a serious one, so it was only to be expected that that event would be running long.

Also, Mopey’s forgetfulness has apparently resulted in some damage to the core of Biff’s personality, aka his glasses. Thanks, Mopey.

And it seems that Mori-senpai has helpfully done his part to ensure that this emergency meeting doesn’t run any longer than it absolutely must – he has provided an itemized list of everything the gang need to get up and running. Running into World War Death. Probably running with scissors into World War Death, as if that could make it worse.

Thankfully, Gregory is able to focus on the short term – rather than being overwhelmed by the prospect of World War Death, he’s just overwhelmed by the number of items on Mori-senpai’s list, and the prospective difficulties involved in acquiring quite a few of those things. He is heartened, though, by one entry on the list: “coach”…not because that sounds easy to fulfill, but because it sounds like a way to share some of the responsibilities currently weighing on him. Ideally share them very unequally.

He still decides to focus on a different entry on the list first, because it’s a time-honored tradition to start off the work on any such list with the item that seems easiest to achieve. How hard can it be to find a mascot?

For the obvious answer (“very”) to that rhetorical question, check back on Monday.

    1. The problem is that he’s entirely too human. You need a mascot with deformed proportions that looks entirely too cute to be real.

      At least so I’ve heard.

    2. Well, Kippu-kun is a cat(-type being)…so he’d make a fantastic mascot! Whenever he’s not in a bad mood or simply napping, that is… which, of course, is beyond anybody’s control, including his own. So, yeah…K’ip would have the right impact, but he’s just not reliable enough to fill the position. XD
