Custom coachbuilding – Chap. 6, Act 2, Strip 4

Contrary to first appearance, Professor Ninjaiakis is going to be of some help, after all! Or, well, at least he’ll try. He might have his work cut out for him, though, given who he’s supposed to be helping.

His original considerations regarding gathering intelligence seem pretty sound, but I think he might have somewhat naive ideas regarding the on-going effectiveness of traditional disguises. I bet that you actually draw plenty of attention if you walk around in the kind of outfit the Professor has in mind – positive attention, most generally, but still plenty of it.

Fortunately the Biffmeister overrules the Professor’s plan – not, though, because of the disguise, but because of the part about walking. He doesn’t mind being a traditional wander monk, but he wants to do it in style and comfort, and without too much of an effort. He has strict rules against physical exertion beyond the football field, and they mostly just say “no!”. (And I guess we can also conclude that Biff never was a boyscout or has forgotten everything about it. The latter being actually more likely than the former.)

Anyway, a compromise is eventually reached, and it’s indeed very…uh…compromising. Mostly the Professor’s attempt to remain unnoticed, but also traffic safety, Japanese folkloristic traditions, everyone’s dignity and sanity in general. I guess being so compromising makes it a great compromise, if that’s how those matters are scored…

More on Thurs…uh, Monday!
