Cats. – Chapter 9, Act 3, Strip 04

Well, in this case the pairing-up process was relatively simple – aside from K’ip, there is only one other cat-person in the cast: the nameless catgirl that Biff brought back from Japan in Chapter Six. She hasn’t really been seen since the end of that chapter, but since I didn’t bother to put her on a bus, or drop a bridge on her, canonically she’s been there all of that time, doing whatever.

And now all of that faithful lingering is paying off for her, since she gets to have a nice romantic moment with Kipu-kun. With the chances looking good for even more fun after the movie. Admittedly, the threshold for something being more fun than that particular movie is pretty darn low. Although I’m saying that as a non-feline person – and while I know that many, many other non-feline persons agree with me (at least according to Rotten Tomatoes), the movie might have completely different qualities from the perspective of a nekomimi. That’s why I felt it was an appropriate choice for this particular couple. And it would be nice if there was somebody who enjoyed that movie.

I hope they have fun watching that movie – for if they do, at least their fun won’t come at the expense of other peoples’ nerves. Unlike, it seems, the fun they might be planning for later…

More on Thursday.

  1. I’m surprised you still remember such minor detail from 3 chapters ago – so many author can’t.

As for movie that a catgirl from Japan would like, it should feature a meganeko that turns into mega neko.

    1. When I go looking through the archives to verify something or other, I’m always kinda shocked with how much of my own work I’ve completely forgotten about. Plus the instances where I repeated a gag without even being aware of it. I wonder how an author like GRR Martin deals with that sort of problem…but giving his pace of writing off lately, even he doesn’t seem to be able to deal all that well with it.

The alternative to the Cats movie would have been an episode of Samurai Pizza Cats. I’m sure K’ip and the catgirl could have bonded of that just as well. XD
