Well, he said he’s getting better…which is not the same as saying he’s super-good at it already.
Part of being (partly) a cat is being happy with being a cat, after all – that is the necessary basis for the smug sense of superiority you’re required to project to be a good cat. Naturally, that makes it difficult to completely hide your feline side in all cases where that’s called for, and K’ip is living that struggle – especially since he grew up in a place where being a cat wasn’t entirely unusual.
And of course there’s not wrong with being (partly) a cat – the main problem that springs from it in the current situation is merely the reactions of the other pupils, particularly many of the female ones. There’s a reason that K’ip made second place on that boys ranking, just below the inimitable Mori-senpai. >_>
Fortunately, cats are also extremely good at deflecting unwanted attention…so the delay caused by this incident should be pretty short. Of course, that’s not saying it will be the only incident of this sort happening on the way to the club room, but I’ll leave any potential further instances off-screen…and, who knows, perhaps there won’t even be any – he is getting better, after all.
Ganbatte, Kipu-kun!
More on Thursday.
Cats are indeed superior beings… until their owners decide that it’s time to castrate them. But other then that, cats are the ultimate lifeforms.
Yeah, cats seem to be an odd combination of superiority and codependency…although I guess you could say the same about most human overlords, so perhaps it’s not that odd. XD
My Feline Overlord approves of this chapter… or at least he might when he wakes up from his nap. Lucky bastage sleeps about 12 hours a day.
Well, as the narration pointed out at the beginning of the D&D chapter, cats are theoretically supposed to be crepuscular – i.e. most active around dusk and dawn, and lethargic throughout the day and the night. What I’ve seen from modern domestic cats, however, I would agree that they seem to be lethargic around the clock. XD
