As was to be expected, Akane’s sudden interjection seems to have spoiled the carefully-set-up moment.
But, really, who could blame a hard-core fujoshi to get overly excited watching two guys having an encounter that’s just laden with romantic/sexual tension and subtext? Well, obviously a different, even bigger fujoshi could blame her. >_>
And while Megumi is not one to blame people easily, when she does it she’s pretty thorough about it. I mean, her expression in panel one is what she looks like after having already tortured Akane for 12 hours, working off much of her frustration…imagine what she must have looked like at the start of the penitence process.
Seems like Akane is authentically remorseful, as well. How much her promises of improved behavior are worth is anybody’s guess, of course – being impetuous is something you can’t really suppress by thinking about it carefully, because once you start thinking, the first thing you notice is that you’ve already acted.
Not that that is a huge problem for Megumi, who seems entirely willing to torture Akane for another 1200 hours to improve results…but, fortunately for the latter, Mopey determines, with scientific accuracy, that all is not lost.
Unfortunately, I had to draw the Ghostbusters-exemption to enable her to do that. So there are now officially pooftions existing in my fictional universe. Which might possibly be even worse than Midichlorians, as far as that sort of thing goes. But I’ll do my best to immediately forget about them and never bring them up again…
More on Thursday.
It’s like we’re seeing Mopey punishing original-flavor Biff for being stupid, but Mopey’s actually on the outside looking in.
This is a fascinating side to Megumi I had not expected. Fun!
