Latho didn’t want to believe it, at first, but the tables have indeed turned.
…don’t ask me why. o_o I just know that they’re apparently supposed to do that in this kind of situation.
I mean, it’s usually not shown, but it gets pointed out so frequently at this point in a plot, and never gets any pushback, so it simply has to be something that actually happens. So I felt reasonably confident I could let Mopey actually show Latho the tables, so his incredulity can be summarily dealt with and won’t delay the plot any further.
What I wasn’t sure of is what kind of tables these usually are, and which way they get turned…so I just stuck with normal wooden desks being turned over. Hopefully the situation doesn’t call for something else, like dining tables turned sideways…but I guess I could always alter the strip if there was any issue like that. >_> I just thought that a writing desk would fit H.P. Lovecraft better than a dining table… because he wrote more than he ate.
On another note, I think Mopey does a pretty good job of being triumphantly menacing. Not every hero figure is cut out to pull off something like that so easily, but Mopey’s canonical character flaws make it a cakewalk for her.
Of course she’s ably supported by Latho, whose re-designed form not only better fits the genre but can also look threatened a lot more convincingly.
More on Thursday.
The tables turning is so widely recognized that someone came up with the idea to utilize that property and created the turntable; a table whose entire function is to turn.
And buoyed by that success, the same person then went on to invent the turncoat…and was executed for treason. XD
Followed by the ballad for all electric vampires, “Turn around bright eyes…”
Do androids have nightmares about electric vampires?
