Yogi, stop shaking Riko’s head like that. You’re making her brain damage worse, and it’s probably quite significant already.
That triviality aside, hooray for Coach Coachy McCoachface! It was really beyond time to simplify the rules of cricket, so that perhaps Riko, sad as her case is, will be the final person who suffers irreparable brain damage from trying to parse them. Especially if Yogi stops shaking her head. Yogi, stop shaking her head.
The new rules are a shining example of clarity, coherency and succinctness. Really. They might not look like that to you, but if you compared them to the prior rules of cricket, you’d see the difference immediately and clearly. Of course I couldn’t really recommend having a look at the old rules, since that would mean risking serious brain damage. Yogi, stop shaking Riko’s head. So, better to keep your wits about you and concentrate on understanding and memorizing the new rules, which should be a breeze. Even at the first glance you’ll notice that there’s nothing there that you haven’t heard before. In some context, I mean.
And what brought about this sudden swerve from the ruling body towards reason and enlightenment? I don’t know. Sometimes, such earth-shaking changes are caused by the most minor of things. And shortly before the ruling body made their decision, the Colonel was seen entering the Coach’s office with two large bags. He didn’t bring them back out when he left. Could it be that there was some reason and enlightenment in those bags?
More on Monday.
A The Mask reference?
If so, it’s not a conscious one, I’m afraid. ^_^; What part are you referring to?
The Cuban Pete song. After relistening seems I misremembered the lyrics though and there’s no “shake senora shake” in the song after all.

Which it turns out THAT’s because I remembered the wrong movie. It was the end song to the live action movie of Beetlejuice:

Ah, now it makes sense! For what it’s worth, the “Shake Senora” thing wasn’t specifically intended as a Beetlejuice reference, but that movie was indeed were I heard the song first. And it’s easy to get those two movies mixed up – they share an era and a certain vibe. XD
