According to Meat Loaf – Chapter 9, Act 2, Strip 64

Biff, fortunately, has managed to maintain perspective in the wake of history’s most embarrassing defeat.

His original personality cared a lot about winning sportsball games, while his later personality sneered at that attitude. By not joining either camp with his current iteration, Biff easily manages a draw here…and then he pushes himself to victory territory by giving himself an extra point for his physical limitation.

Not knowing, of course, that Bernd is also suffering from asthma. I mean, how could he not? Biff should really have expected that, if he had thought about it in depth…but he knows better than thinking about things in depth while he’s in winning territory. We’re living in an age of “take the win”.

More on Monday.

      1. XD I didn’t name him, though… and I doubt his creators were aware of the pun the name makes in English, it’s probably really just a coincidence.

    1. I’m not sure whether he ever belonged in it, anyway. Based on the intelligence he had received from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Custer had no reason to suspect he could encounter a warband anywhere near the size he actually found – and the report he received from his Native scouts was rather vague as to actual numbers. Based on the intelligence picture he had available, I don’t feel Custer acted irresponsible in dividing his force. Not that it’s hugely relevant to this strip… XD
