By Gods, For Gods. – Chapter 9, Act 3, Strip 66

All is well that ends well, as I like to say. Or, well… would like to say, if I’d ever experience something ending well.

But Honest-Abe-kun and Mihashi do experience something ending well, said something being their trip to Egypt…or the backyard of that eccentric Japanadese archeologist. Wherever it was that they went.

They have survived and they have found the Pitch of the Gods. And while it didn’t turn out to be the kind of pitch they were looking for, the strengthening of their friendship and mutual understanding that happened on the trip will essentially come with all of the benefits that a Pitch of the Gods of the right kind would have had. That old chestnut actually half makes sense here, that’s almost too good for the standards of a B-movie. And they could use the actual (wrong kind of) Pitch of the Gods to fix the roof of their temple…so they got more out of the whole ordeal than they would have gotten with the right kind of pitch.

Not entirely sure, but this might be the first time I drew Honest-Abe-kun smiling. He’s barely recognizable like that.

Their flight home was uneventful. Or as uneventful as a flight in a rickety old biplane can be. They probably had a couple of bouts of engine troubles, some fire and then had to make an emergency landing because they ran out of fuel. But they met an itinerant fuel peddler with his camel in the desert and could refuel to a remarkably low price. You know, that kind of uneventful.

Anyway, the adventure in Egypt is over, Honest-Abe-kun and Mihashi emerge as a much stronger battery, and there are no consequences at all having to do with the Curse of the Pharaohs.

Or are there? >_> <_< >_>

More on Thursday.
