So here’s the final part of the Patalliro! parody (or is it a hommage?), as already threatened.
If you’re a long-time reader, you know I have a hard time controlling myself with this sort of thing. I’m sorry. ^_^; In my defense, I think there are two things that speak in favor of this particular strip: Firstly, it buries the issue with the Quad-Force of Power, which was, of course, a red herring to begin with. It seemed to have some high relevance to the plot upon its introduction, but was then never seen or heard of again, as a good red herring should.
And secondly…well, I think the gag in this strip very much fits the style of humour in the original source material, something I only very rarely achieve with my parodies (or are the hommages?). So I’m almost a little bit proud of this strip, I dunno.
Anyway, the good boy-king of the never-even-named fantasy kingdom seems to be firmly back on top of things, or at least back to his typical shenanigans, which is close enough as to make no difference. Further hammering home the point that evil has fallen, and happy times are here again. And that the Quad-force of Power has been recovered can’t hurt – it will bring great bounty to the fair lands, or at least to the king during his next poker night.
More on Thursday.
