First off, on a technical note, I’ve got some progress to report regarding the uploading of the archives from the old site. We’re working on it from both ends, so to speak, and at the moment Chapters 1, 5 and 6 are already back online – you can reach them from the menu at the top of the page, or through the normal, previous/next navigation. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 to follow as soon as possible.
As for today’s strip, I feel it’s very nice from Sir Gianfor to surrender the lead to K’ip as they’re drawing near to their objective. So many wise, old mentor characters seem to forget that it’s the youthful hero who’s supposed to be in charge at the crucial points. It’s really very considerate from Sir Gianfor to maintain that proper order. I don’t know why Si’ri is so suspicious of that kind of commendable considerateness. She’s just naturally mistrusting, probably. What’s so strange about Sir Gianfor knowing that they’re looking for the Annoying Haseyo? It’s true that Si’ri didn’t mention the name, but have you ever heard of any other legendary artifact in connection with the city of Ad’nanapart? Me neither, and so Sir Gianfor probably arrived at the name by a simple process of elimination. In fact, I think I just heard him mumble something about “elimination almost complete” under his breath, which supports this theory.
In addition to being mistrustful, Si’ri is a bit ahead of her time, it seems. While it’s good to know she’s aware of the various web-based dangers she mentioned, I think she might be overlooking a type of danger that’s even more stereotypically associated with webs around the time and place in question. >_> But while she might overlook the danger, the danger will probably not overlook her, so they’ll find each other eventually.
More on Mon…uh, Thursday.
