Well, yeah…I decided that the Infinity Gauntlet would have been just a bit of overkill in the end. Or rather, too much overkill… since moderate overkill would, of course, be perfectly fine in this genre.
Fortunately, there was a simple way to neuter its power: by leaving the Queen ignorant of its hidden, supernatural powers. After all, its existence is sufficiently justified just by being an elaborately decorated heavy punching gauntlet. You can’t deny that it’s awfully charismatic even just in that function.
A minor complication is the Queen’s sufficiently attested sharp and inquisitive mind. Would she really be incurious enough to overlook such a central feature in something she literally pulled out of her…
…extradimensional closet?
*cough* But I felt I could make that sufficiently plausible by just having her catch the dumb from Mopey. Or rather, the dumb and the violent. It’s that combination that would have been attractive to her… you know, breaking free of those suffocating restraints she’s lived her whole royal existence under.
Although…I guess that flashback to her after-party self on her home planet… didn’t make her appear all that terribly restrained, actually. >_> Hmm… well, we can put that back then down to the twins being a bad influence on her. And that happening now to Mopey being a bad influence on her. Makes just as much sense this way. Right. She’s just easily influenced. Not something unheard of in princesses, I’ve been told…
More on Thursday.
…I just…
I have no words.
There are no words.
Just… just don’t snap with that thing on, ok?
Don’t worry, I think she would feel that something like snapping would be kinda frivolous, given the gravity of the situation. XD
