Horror beyond Halloween – Chapter 9, Act 2, Strip 73

With Halloween over, Gregory-kun is back from the Twilight Zone…well, or at least he’s back from that Twilight Zone, and in the everyday twilight zone he had been in before. What he didn’t bring back, of course, are any answers…who, indeed, was that other little kid? And what did the sepia-toning and the outdated outfits imply? As usual, the Twilight Zone is better at raising questions than answering them…but I guess it wouldn’t be much of a twilight zone if that was any other way.

But Gregory has more pressing challenges to deal with right now…he still has to confront Mori-senpai, and with bad news, to boot. He’s bracing himself as well as he can…and I think that’s actually pretty well, everything told. I’m quite sure he could have withstood Mori-senpai’s effect without too much damage this time, if he hadn’t happened to walk in on him at the most inopportune of moments. No amount of mental preparation could have shielded him from the full effect of Mori-senpai’s sparkliness when he’s only in his undies. It’s completely off the charts, rivaling any 4th of July fireworks in terms of candlepower. Gregory stood no chance.

So, yeah…if you belong to the cast of the BMC, the horror doesn’t stop once Halloween is over…

More on Thursday.

  1. My eyes! Googles do nothing!
Maybe because I’m not wearing them. That was mistake No 1.

    1. I’m not so sure…I think the correct way to wear goggles is always on your head, like a hairband. Because they’re coolest that way. Wearing them over your eyes is just so…mundane. Especially since they wouldn’t really have helped much in this case, unless they were special anti-flash googles. XD

  2. Reminds me of that scene from Haunted Junction, in which Red Mantle removes his mask and even the guys are stunned and fall in love with him.
