If you’ve seen one Snuka…. – Chap. 5, Act 3, Strip 14

Ah, a good thing they found Snuka that quickly. I was really worried about her, for a while there – smashing head-first into a rocky outcrop at speeds in excess of 300 miles per hour is something that you typically can’t just walk off like that. But she apparently could, and not just walk it off, swiiiish it off, even! Remarkable resilence and recovery.

Although it looks like there might be a few lingering side effects. Normally, the Professor shouldn’t have been able to sneak up on Snuka that easily. Especially since he no longer had the active sound surpression system that he found among the ninja stuff Snuka had left behind. He did manage to figure out how to use it, but his method of application (stuffing it into the ears of a guard) made the system strictly single-use, which it wouldn’t usually have been.

Other side effects of the severe blow to Snuka’s head seems to have been a change in her eye-color (normally Snuka’s eyes are as dark and bottomless as his soul) and the language she thinks in. I interpret that to mean that her Asian-ness, the absence of which had puzzled the Professor, wasn’t actually absent but only stuck, and the impact knocked it loose again. I’m sure that that’s how that sort of thing works.

She also seems not to recognize the Professor – that might be another side-effect of her accident, or perhaps she’s just pretending because she forgot her homework. ._.

More on Monday.
