Kotteressor – Chapter 9, Prologue, Strip 22

So after dragging out that cliffhanger unreasonably long, I end the strip (and with it the whole prologue)…on another cliffhanger. Do I know no shame at all? Seems I don’t. >_>

In my defense, the preceding two strips at least served to establish that what struck the Lillytown laboratory wasn’t actually the astromech droid – since it was elsewhere at that time striking other things.

What struck the laboratory instead was, apparently, the Professormagirarian…if we can still call him that? Is he still able to use magic and berserk rage, now that he’s physically back in our world? I guess that’ll remain an open question for now…but Snuka, at least, immediately starts addressing him as ‘Professor’ again. And since I wrote the dialogue, that might be significant. >_>

But disregarding the things that might have changed for him, Snuka rightfully addresses the things that haven’t changed as a top priority: the Professor is physically back in our world, but the physique in question is still the one from the realm. A circumstance that definitely calls for an explanation, as do the circumstances that brought him here when all he was trying to do is shooting an astromech droid through an interdimensional barrier… Unfortunately, the Professor is still too shaken (in the first instance, by his trip(?), and in the second instance, by Snuka) and distracted to provide any.

The distraction in question stemming from what happened to the others, which is his top priority right now – providing both an example of the Professor’s altruism as well as a convenient cliffhanger.

All of this aside, I think Snuka is fundamentally correct in his emotional reaction to this turn of events: after overcoming his initial shock, he is happy to see the Professor again in the flesh.

Welcome back, Professor.

More on Thursday.

  1. I know this is crazy though, but what if…
What if Snuka actually got into the fantasy world but, because he didn’t get class change, he just assumed that it’s professor who got into the real world?

    1. That would actually be a pretty great plot twist…it’s not the route this chapter is going to go down, but it would work. Especially with Snuka, who doesn’t actually require a class change to fit into a fantasy world, since he could simply stay the thief/rogue he’s been since early in life. XD (Back then I made him a paladin, of course, but that was only to mix things up/annoy him, it wouldn’t have been necessary…)
