Yeah, I’m very disappointed in my scheduling here…the most non-ironically romantic strip I’ve ever had, and it’s scheduled two weeks too early for Valentine’s Day. I was seriously tempted to draw four strips’ worth of filler to line the strip up with the date, but, yeah…that would have gone too far in surrendering to the whims of the calendar.
I’ve skipped ahead to the end of the date, I’m sure anyone can imagine what happened in between. Two awkward teens getting increasingly more awkward as their degree of emotional investment in the situation increases. It’s not a good look for either of them, but particularly Mopey deserves a bit of privacy for what must be a pretty low point in her life as measured by the peculiar standard she has traditionally applied to it. Two creatures of the night seeing the light of awkward teenage romance…something tells me this is an episode they will both gloss over if they ever write their autobiographies.
While I shortened the retelling of the date, I did draw out the kiss…but that’s only because I’m sure it would be a very slow and drawn-out process by nature.
In the end, Beelzebusa steps in to save the two from the full consequences of their actions. Apparently, the whole thing got too painful even for the demon possessing the little handpuppet.
