It’s not like you can’t convey romantic feelings properly in sign language – you very much can with the general use sign language systems.
Unfortunately (for Snuka), ninja sign language is different – it’s been designed for tactical applications and its creators (the ninja elders, obviously) consciously limited the number of signs available to convey romantic ideas. They didn’t want to encourage young ninjas out on a mission to devote too much time thinking about that kind of thing. Not that that helped any, but the ninja elders at least tried.
Absent a rich vocabulary, Snuka’s date has no other choice than to be pretty frank and straight-forward about her vision for the end of the evening…and unfortunately, that was a bit too much for Snuka, who died from shock. He’s surprisingly vulnerable when it comes to tenderness, mostly because he’s never encountered a lot of it in his life.
Oh, well. It was a very nice date up to that point, and 100% straight as I had promised. Snuka really enjoyed it until he died.
