First off: My apologies for the delay of Monday’s strip, which got posted only today. ^_^; Completely my fault, a simple typo I made when putting the strip into the queue: I accidentally scheduled it for April 11th instead of April 1st. And then I didn’t realize that until today, when I came to put the new strip into the queue. Ah, well, I guess I could always claim it was a conscious homage to delays and scheduling issues traditionally connected to B-movies?
As for today’s strip: What can I say? Shinji is a nerd. >_>
More on Monday.
Or you could claim that was your sick idea of April’s Fool joke…
\Yeah, that’s gonna sound even worse.
It could have worked, though – I haven’t done an April’s Fool joke on the BMC in many years, but I had a few in the early years.
Can’t say I blame Shinji, his original giant robot was a clunky mess that needed to be plugged in and went berserk half the time. His current nimble model that actually does what he says AND that he doesn’t even need to be inside to pilot is a HUGE step up from his humble (and mentally scaring) beginnings.
Why can’t you blame Shinji? Everyone does, and it’s so much fun. XD
But, yeah, you’re right – this is one of the cushier jobs Shinji has landed, both in his canonical universe as well as in my webcomic. Remote control definitely has it’s advantages, in far as keeping the operator out of trouble is concerned. Of course, in Tetsujin 28-go Shotaro Kaneda still found enough ways to get himself into trouble, but it took quite an effort.
Behold, Mihashiface appears in battle! XD
Yeah, I’m definitely not denying the source of inspiration for this. XD
