The task of guiding Biff down his..uh, her first tender steps down the road to accepting certain changes that have occurred to her, falls to Mopey as a matter of course. It’s not like she volunteered, or embraced the task enthusiastically…but, at the end of the day, she could not entirely deny that she is the most qualified, due to her many years of experience at being female. Neither the Professor nor Gregory have ever been female at all, and Snuka hasn’t, either, even if he did spend parts of chapters two and three wearing drag.
But being the most qualified is a very relative thing, in this case, since it turns out that this is one of those things you can never be really well prepared for. Mopey does try her best – which, by itself, shows that she’s no longer holding Biff’s earlier existence against her – but it would be an exaggeration to call the current going smooth. As Mopey admits to herself, which is also already quite some achievement for her.
It’s not like Biff isn’t reacting positively to her guidance, though – she seems quite receptive to Mopey’s instructions, and her pose and expression have improved markedly in a short time, as a result. As far as mentally processing recent events goes, though, it does seem like she’s still at least one step away from a final result. And not an average step, necessarily…not even a LeBronian step…but at least a Gargantuan step, or even a Pantagruelian.
More on Mon…uh, Thursday.
Snuka WAS female during plenty of chapter 5, so…
That’s true! But, somehow, had completely slipped my mind when I wrote the comment yesterday. O_o;
I should really write some chapter summaries…mostly for my own benefit in keeping track of stuff…
