Resigned to resigning – Chap. 6, Act 4, Strip 42

So now I’ve finally managed to conclude a character arc – the naval commander’s one. At the end of it, he has finally made peace with the fact that his long career of exceptional service to his nation is going to end in utter disgrace, after all. He had been struggling with that realization ever since a certain bright-eyed young officer was first attached to his command. Because brightness isn’t everything, when it comes to eye-sight…and especially not if your eyes are the only thing about you that can be described as ‘bright’.

Anyway, the commander’s resigned to his fate…and his fate, ironically, is to resign from his post! I feel the hand of a higher power in this inexplicable parallelity.

In other news, I call dibs on “Lt. Dapi and the Baka Gaijin” as a band name. It can never hurt to have some band names in reserve, you never know when you’re going to run into some nameless band somewhere.

And, yeah, those highly-sophisticated military displays are kinda…8-bitish. Uh, that’s because they have to be functional, not beautiful. And, uh…they already cost millions like that, if you wanted 32-bit grahphics they’d have costed billions! Also, there is no standard NATO symbol for a kaiju, so I had to steal some computer game graphics for my purposes. >_>

More on Thurs…uh, Monday!
