As the Professor says in the second panel, there is solid empirical evidence – while the precise mechanism remains shrouded in mystery, the correlation between taking Biff along and being captured by the enemy is absolute. B might happen without A, but A always leads to B, no exceptions, even without explanation. This is called the Transformation of Things. Perhaps in ten thousand generations, a sage will be born who can understand it. Perhaps in a hundred thousand generations, a sage who understands it will be able to explain it.
