I might be a day early with that, but I felt that was close enough not to shift the update day. And this here is also why I needed that stalling strip – because the best possible moment to integrate Halloween directly into the story was immediately following the entry.
Obviously, that requires the hero’s big reveal to be slightly less revealing than is normal for the situation, but it gives them a rare chance at the coveted double reveal! And that without even straining the limits of creduility too much – after all, that disguise in the last panel isn’t exactly something that pushes the boundary of camouflage technology. You could even say it’s characterized by something not unlike a distinct lack of effort…or, let’s charitably assume, time and resources. Or, as a compromise, all three.
Anyway, whoever our mystery hero is, I have my doubts he’ll be able to gather the hoped-for bounty of candy. Dr. Dutchman Fu seems to be the only other person around, and he doesn’t exactly have a reputation of philantropy – even aside from the fact that the only snack he seems to be in the habit of carrying on his person is cheese dip.
So I hope you’ll have a better Halloween than what-his-name, at the very least!
