New Year’s Special 2015 – 2016 – Chap. 6, Act 3, Strip 12b

Since I did a Christmas Special this year, I kinda had to go and do a New Year’s special, as well…since if Dec. 24th falls on an update day, Dec. 31st logically does so, too.

And the current situation within the story was also particularly suited to doing this kind of special – after all, how often does Dec. 31st find Biff somewhere surrounded by huge stockpiles of explosives and ammunitions? Granted, with his special ‘talent’ for it he could manage to set off fireworks even in the middle of a desert, somehow…but with all of those shells, rockets and grenades in convenient reach, it just takes a lot less effort.

That’s also why all of Gregory’s well-meant efforts to prevent this outcome were doomed to fail. He was correct in assuming, based on his own experience and what he heard from Mopey, that literally anything that Biff does or even just says on Dec. 31st could trigger the jinx and the associated fireworks. He was also correct in concluding that the only countermeasure would be trying to get Biff to do and say nothing at all all day long. He was naive in assuming that that would actually work.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE

(“Merry Brains” still being a suitable alternative, of course, if you prefer. When are merry brains ever something not to be wished for?)

More on Thurs…uh, Monday!
