Well, they could have simply blasted their way through the door, and that would also have resulted in a much more spectacular scene … but going for a small perforation first could have saved a lot of energy and time, if it had worked. And the chances for that weren’t that bad, given how often people leave the keys in the door. In fact, the absence of the keys is clear proof that Biff couldn’t have entered the base by that door, he’d almost certainly have forgotten the keys in the lock. ._.
